Next year’s joint conference of MLA and DLA will once again take place at The Hyatt Regency Chesapeake in Cambridge, MD. This was a really great new location for the 2017 conference and it promises to be even better next year with even more conference space.
The theme for this year’s conference is: Evolve. The role of academic librarians and the academic library is in flux on many campuses. Are you evolving by changing your portfolio of services to meet the needs of a new generation of diverse students? Developing new partnerships or forms of community engagement? Or maybe you are using something you already have in a bold new way? If so submit a proposal to share how and why you are evolving with the Maryland library community!
As in previous years, proposals for standard 1 hour conference sessions and extended 2 hour sessions will be accepted, subject to the whole conference schedule. Programs will be scheduled during the whole day on Thursday and on Friday morning, while full-day and half-day workshops will be held on Wednesday, May 2, 2018.
