ACRL-MD’s January Program: Breaking Down Barriers

We’re excited to announce that on Friday January 11th at the Maryland State Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped ACRL-MD will be holding “Breaking Down Barriers: Improving Inclusion for those with Disabilities”

The library community is increasingly concerned with ensuring that we create welcoming spaces for all members of the community, but we might not have the skills and knowledge to do so for those who have barriers to accessing information resources. Join us for a day of discussion about how we can make our libraries more welcoming spaces for both our patrons and employees who may be blind, deaf, or not neurotypical. Hear expert advice from library workers serving in institutions with a mission of access, get hands on with technology to overcome barriers, and leave with a plan to improve your own workplace!

The program will include lunch and is open to members and non-members alike. Interested in registering? You can do so through the MLA Website.
