Conference Wrap-up: An Online Discussion
Friday, May 17
11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Sometimes when you get back from a conference, you set all your notes aside, catch up on work emails and to-do lists, and never look back. This Friday, take a moment to digest what you heard and learned at MLA/DLA Annual Conference. ACRL MD is hosting an online conference wrap-up session on Friday, May 17 from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., instead of our regular online journal club. Share your opinions on the sessions you attended, what inspired you, and what you’d like to see next time.
Blackboard Collaborate Directions
We’ll be on MLA’s online meeting software, Blackboard Collaborate. On Friday, May 17, join our discussion online at: https://sas.elluminate.com/m.jnlp?sid=2012176&password=M.EFF327145BA70AF1D6C64C108FC41A (you’ll need speakers, microphone optional). You will be prompted to enter your name. Once you are in the meeting room, you can test your speakers and microphone. In the “Audio & Video” pod, there is an icon showing a blue microphone with a red settings gear – simply click on that and Blackboard will walk you through the setup.
If you need to jump in a little late or leave early (or eat lunch), please do! Questions? Contact Joanna at firstname.lastname@example.org
Looking ahead: Online Journal Club – June edition
Stay current with library literature over the summer. We’re still planning on holding regular online journal club meetings to discussion the latest issue of College and Research Libraries. The May issue is available and we’ll be discussing it Friday, June 21 from 11:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m. If you’re really productive, take the survey to select the top three articles you’re most interested in talking about: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/WS3LSLR . We’ll send journal club reminders towards the end of the month.
