SCVNGR Hunt: Technological Triumph or Torture?
Thursday, May 9
10:45 – noon
An ever-increasing portion of the population access the Internet via mobile technology. As we continue to become more reliant on hand-held devices, libraries will continue to provide ways to reach their patrons using new programs. Two librarians charged with finding and implementing emerging technologies and game-based learning tools discovered and created SCVNGR-based outreach and marketing programs. Learn how to create your own geolocation-based outreach and marketing while listening to our success and failures. A post-lecture scavenger hunt will provide hands-on experience with SCVNGR. Bring your mobile devices and get ready to plug in, tune in, and learn!
This program is worth 1 contact hour of continuing education.
