If you’re attending a preconference, you’ll be at the 2o12 MLA/DLA Joint Conference in just two weeks! The conference committee, including ACRL MD’s representative, David Dahl, have been working hard for months, and we can barely believe the conference is nearly here.
When you sit down to figure out your travel plans, we hope you’ll build in time to attend our first-ever conference social on Wednesday evening. There’s no need to be an academic librarian to attend, and you don’t even have to be attending the conference. The staff at Liquid Assets is excited to host us, and if you haven’t been there before you’ll be in for a fun evening!
Studies in Socialization: The Effects of Wine and Cheese on Networking Outcomes
Wednesday, May 9
Get your conference started right! Come join ACRL MD, the academic division of MLA, for an evening of food, drinks and networking. Prepare for Battledecks over a cocktail or two while socializing with colleagues from across the state. Learn more about ACRL MD, its members, and its initiatives. Librarians of all varieties are invited and encouraged to stop by – the more, the merrier. ACRL MD’s first ever conference happy hour will take place at Liquid Assets, just a short walk from the conference hotel.
We’ll provide some hors d’oeuvres, and there will be a cash bar with specials. If you’re planning to attend and you haven’t already done so. Please consider joining the Facebook event for the happy hour so we can have a rough idea as to how many people are coming -and don’t hesitate to share the info with friends and colleagues!
