Registration Deadline for Fall Program Extended 1 Week
September 30, 2010Posted by on
If you’ve been trying to decide if you want to attend ACRL MD’s fall program, you still have a chance to register. The registration deadline has been extended by 1 week to October 7.
Please join ACRL MD for their Fall Program, The One Shot Is Dead; Long Live the One Shot.
The one-shot instruction session is a great way to teach students how to do research for a particular project – but how well does it support development of students’ overall information literacy? At this half-day session, we’ll explore this question. We’ll start by setting the foundation with a presentation on William Perry’s “Forms of Ethical and Intellectual Development in the College Years.” This will be followed up with a debate about the pros and cons of the one-shot instruction session. Lastly, we’ll take a look at two different ways of delivering information literacy instruction: roving reference and embedded librarianship.
